I'm honestly not sure what the names mean anymore. I've seen people call their 4th round their Series A. Our original round was called our Series A (just what legal put on there an no one really payed attention) whereas I think most would d

The tool should be the homepage. It should just start asking me to fill in TODOs when i got to lazymeter.com. None of this registration stuff. Just super cookie me and then say "click here to link to facebook to save your list".

Wait a sec, weren't you the same guys that told me you started to go stir crazy working in an office with no natural light? :) It's a really cool place. I love a dark room to work in but I worry about the long term effect of working in a ba

Olark is a great tool. We (UserVoice) often use it when we're launching a new feature or change to our sign up onramp. That said you can quickly find it overwhelming (and distracting). It's great feedback but you really need to dedicate som

Wow this post was like reading a post from myself in the not so distant future. We had the exact same experience on SoftLayer CloudLayer. Random I/O failures, read-only mode and of course the most frustrating part was the support process

We just sat down and picked an amount of valuation (or really dilution) that we were comfortable with and went with it. Everyone was at the same valuation. There was no discount for first movers.

Our actual burn rate was pretty low (~$10K/mo) but it was also unsustainable. No one was being paid and we were just finding enough money to keep a roof over our head. Our "true" burn to keep going would have been much higher than that.

Honestly the determiniation of how much to raise was pretty back of the envelope. I think originally we thought about doing $250K but then after talking to other people it seemed that's a pretty naive number. You really can't get much done

Our key metrics really didn't change over the course of the fundraising process. We had be live for over a year and sign up growth as pretty stable. The only "metric" that changed was the current revenue/mo numbers. But it really wasn't a c

That's a good point. Harder to track and visualize but it would have been interesting. You can roughly assume that anyone in the "invested" column influenced people further down the tree from them.

They're not high for most people. They're high for a small subset of people that don't know what they're doing as soon as they read "JSON" :)

Hey Lubos, We definitely need to add something to the Admin Console about this. On the to-do list. :) You can upgrade by: 1. Signing in to the Admin Console 2. Going to Settings 3. Scrolling down and clicking “Change plan” 4. Clicking th

We just spent the last half hour hurriedly changing our marketing site nav based on feedback :) The prices are lower because their per admin. One of our goals wast to make the entry level price points more accessible.
