And some obvious cultural differences between UK and US (ie: "budget 2 months to find another job". Which made me scratch my head... my experience lately has been 1-2 weeks, if that. And I'm not in a prime market either...)

I too like the idea, and am of two minds of this. In the hands of individuals it's a good tracking tool: I wasn't really aware that I was... maybe not as happy at work as I would have liked until I took this week's survey. I&

QuickBase(.com) may be something close to what you want: while mostly aimed at > 10 people businesses. It's not great, but it does have a reasonable amount of power... especially for apps with say less than 10 tables. DabbleDB was a

Kind of neat, from the Simplest Thing That Could Possibly Work perspective. (Sometimes all you need is five lines of shell script to provision something, vs a full blown provisioning system and all the scaffolding that implies)

TL;DR: Since 2012 McKinsey has a program where you can take 5-10 weeks UNPAID off between projects (once per year). They also talk about "team norm" before a project. There are also part time posts available. 13% of the workforce

Was wishing for the Mac version to be free, but then remembered the Mac version is probably 68K (instruction set). But still, had so much fun playing this on my 68030 back in the day ( just before Apple made the 68K to PowerPC transition..

I really wish this was taught more in business school: that metrics/productivity is subject to the Observer Effect ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Observer_effect_%28physics%29 ) too: that the act of observing for me

Hmm. Seems like a technique with a very low success rate: out of 1,000 applicants they hired 2? So what's that, a .2% success rate? Seems like there has to be techniques with better success rate than that...
