You should send compressed DIFFs only, and not whole changed files.

Because you don't know what that "/anything" is, only your mailing system does, and it converts links in your email template to these mkt5371-type links right before it sends out the email.

Really? Any trade? Car salesmen are sitting and solving logical problems? Programming is very close to logic. Of course, there are other fields that require logic and problem solving. Engineering, science, for instance.

You would have to know the URL on the third party server to redirect to. And usually, you don't, because they are generated internally by some pre-processor.

It's rarely up to a developer. For websites with large email campaigns there's usually a third party system, which has some link tracking feature. And guess what, your marketing department is using it, and they don't want to switch to your

Don't use phrases. Use one really strong password that you can remember with a tool like KeePass. Generate random long passwords (30 characters) for everything and store them in KeePass. I've recently converted all my accounts to that - my

I don't see how it's your fault, other than making a slight error of clicking on the wrong table name 1) Senior developers / CTO letting anybody mess with the prod DB should be grounds for their firing. It's so incompetent, it's insane. 2)

Your interface fails on so many levels 1) Your front page essentially contains one button "Get free quotes", which takes you to another page with a form. Why not display that form on the front page? One less click = better conversions. 2) W

I don't doubt there are all kinds of new materials out there stronger than steel, but the article clearly states that he uses "ABS plastic via Fused Deposition Modeling", which is a different material and a different process.

If you compare #2 and #3 and they are similar quality, it would prove your product is essentially not doing better than x264.

Ok, 1) Compress the original with x264, target around 2mbit 2) Compress the result of #1 with your algorithm. 3) Compress the original with x264, target the bitrate of the result of #2 Compare #2 and #3

So post 1) a high quality original video (30-40 Mbit). 2) a 2-Mbit video compressed with your algorithm. 3) a 2-Mbit video compressed with x264 with reasonable settings. Until you present evidence, that article has very valid criticisms, wh

YouTube has never been profitable. Google only owns it, because they can afford to, and because they believe it's the future of how people will consume video and TV (and I think they are right).

I'm with TWC, and holy crap, now 1080p quality works just fine, whereas most of the time 720p would take forever to buffer. I'm on a 20/2 mbit plan, and it was ridiculous before this fix.

1) Install HTTPS Everywhere extension for your browser 2) Use VPN if you can 3) Use TOR browser if you can Let's overwhelm the internet with encrypted traffic. Nobody will have enough resources to decrypt or MITM all that traffic.

A bit off topic. I FUCKING HATE this new 3D navigation shit that some websites started doing. It's slow, it jumps through pages sometimes, it's absolutely not clear where you are.

Just because you named a few games that are platform-specific, doesn't mean there are tons of games that exist on both PC and consoles. With the new PS4 x86 + GPU architecture, portability becomes trivial. PS4, essentially, is a PC stuck in

Both PC and consoles share the same market - high end gaming. Your iPhone "argument" makes no sense, it's a red herring.

People still enjoy Tetris and PacMan. That's not the point. We're discussing the latest tech. PS4 is doomed to be years behind PC. Even at launch, PS4 will be at least a year behind spec-wise.
