I watched your pitch video, and it indeed was painful. You didn't have the answer to an important question, and you still don't. "We don't want to be a hedge fund" is not an answer. If your prediction software works, you are sitting on a go

How can you do any real work on a 11" screen? I'd get a tablet if I need something that small.

It's only small because bitcoins are a pain in the ass to get, and haven't spread yet. Once they become mainstream, there's no reason SilkRoad can't be the next huge thing. Think about - there's nothing that stops them from selling pirated

I just looked at EA salaries, and their level III engineers make $98K on average. It's very sad, considering game dev not only requires good programming skills, but also all kinds of math, graphics, sound knowledge. http://www.glassdoor.co

Game developes are what, $80-150K/year on average (of all levels). Add benefits and tax overhead, makes it $110-180K/year. Times 350: $38,500,000 - $63,000,000 per year. (I don't know if they include artists, managers, executives in that 35

I have around 30 decent ideas that I can implement myself, 5 of them are very high quality, one of them already got implemented by somebody else, and was pretty successful. I'm a developer too, and I simply can't find time to implement, unl

The issue wasn't with the battery having less capacity when cold. The issue was with Broder's lies.

This is stupid. It will simply reflect the average number of people who have the internet per state.

It could see 5//3 as two division operators and throw an error, but it considers it a comment (to be fair, comments are probably removed by a pre-processor).

Actually, modern SSDs have lower latency than 70 microseconds: 26 microseconds for OCZ Vertex 4 (reads) http://thessdreview.com/our-reviews/ocz-vertex-4-128gb-ssd-r... No more than 20 microseconds for Corsair Neutron GTX and Vertex 4 (wri

> but it could equally see it as x ++3 What it could see is not a valid argument. A compiler could "see" all kinds of absolutely valid situations as invalid, but it doesn't.

It's not about a parenthesis. It's about the compiler not understanding all valid possibilities. x+ +3 works. x++3 doesn't.

It also works if you add a space: x+ +3; I always thought the unary plus operator is a complete waste, and shouldn't be implemented. I can't imagine a situation when it's needed. EDIT: technically, it's a bug in GCC. It sees "x++"

Without a compiler, or google, haven't touched C++ in years: 1a) will give an error 2a) 2 2b) -10 2c) 4 2d) This is clever, haha. Answer: 5 2e) true (or 1) 5) "This is the answer." because of if (y = z) Bonus) jk

That's actually true about Hacker News on mobile screens. Yes, you can zoom in, but then you have to scroll left and right to see the text. Extremely annoying.

Not Mersenne primes though. There are only a few of them, and it would be trivial to check if any of them are used as primes. The whole point of encryption schemes that use prime numbers is that the attacker doesn't know which primes are
