HN sure is one hell of a sampling bias, but it would seem everyone here has impostor syndrome. I think one important factor to feeling like you're an impostor who doesn't belong is being among others who are smarter and more experienced tha

It seems a bit far fetched that Microsoft has thousands of servers you can access publicly via default passwords. They raided his home and took all of his stuff, but didn't arrest him? How is that legal? Shouldn't he get his stuff back if t

Isn't that bad for your users though? I would feel taken advantage of if I learned that while the cost of a game has remained the same (99 tokens) but the cost per token has gone up.

I don't see how this is very disruptive. What are the benefits of proprietary currency? That is, other than locking in your users to spending their money only on your marketplace?

I had to get a new debit card relatively recently (was robbed) and it came with a 6-digit PIN not of my choosing (Bank of America). Just saying, they now exist.

I'm currently a CS student and kind of like the idea of doing Hacker School for Summer 2013 or 2014, but could never afford the living expenses. Why do you only do scholarships for Women?

A moving tribute and wonderful video in and of itself. I'm far too young (21) to fully appreciate everything he embodied. His early death really makes you appreciate the luck of being alive. From the normal to the billionaire magicians, rem

Fantastic read. As a current CS student (Junior), I'm hoping a GitHub employee might let me know if there are internship opportunities for next Summer? I'd love to try some SlowMerge(TM) ... and work really hard of course.

I couldn't buy the book earlier so I emailed the creator and he generously gave me the book for free (DRM free to boot!). I took a quick look through it before my last class and so far am loving it (yummm free quality content!). Thanks agai

I thought it was generally assumed that all noises that come from your computer should either be muted or consumed via headphones. People actually let their computers just blast random noises in a shared place? That's like going into a libr

Your graphic depicting Server Load vs Server Instance is kind of choppy. Kind of left me feeling like I would experience a lag in your service. Good luck anyways.

I don't think it's easy to see Microsoft profiting by leveraging its Xbox division to boost PC sales (Windows license sales). I can't find a source for this, but I doubt Microsoft made much money if at all on the Xbox 360. The money is in X

Is it wrong to contaminate a space that has no life/use otherwise? I'm not saying Mars as it stands has no use, but if we find no life there, surely spreading life to another planet is "good" right?

Is it illegal to chop up payments that exceed $400? If not, I'd say this is a nice way to save a bit of money if you do more than $10,000 in business every month. Not sure if it's worth the hassle to implement though.
