I do believe hate speech is illegal already. Certainly online harassment leading to someone committing suicide is. KF is a platform that facilitates these activities.

These devices are hardly low emissions if you compare them to walking or biking which are the modes of transit they are most likely to replace. I had a conversation with an ex C-level employee of one of these companies, and there is no way

I'm genuinely sorry you had a bad time. People of every background feeling welcome and being able to contribute is what it is all about. RMS being reinstated was simply not a smart move, I think it does great harm to FSF. For example,

I'm not American in any way, not that it should matter. But I am an active maintainer of several open source projects.

I work in open source and care deeply about it. Which is why having an organization that disregards reports of misconduct and at the same time frames itself to represent open source software is repugnant to me. There's no doubt Stallma

Mainly harassing women. But maybe that isn't such a big deal to some. If it is, you can read about it here. https://rms-open-letter.github.io/appendix

The list of voting members need to be public. As it stands the self-selecting voting members make the FSF a non-democratic organization. Being non-democratic is in itself isn't necessarily an issue, but the FSF has demonstrated a compl

Kernel development is not a panacea. I'm a maintainer and you should set you expectations (if you end up upstreaming code) to: - a lot of bikeshedding - a mailing list driven workflow - poor continuous integration

I think it is to the extent these boards can be booted without TZ, which probably depends on which SOC vendor is used.

Speaking of paying taxes, that's much harder than it needs to be too. I did my corporate Swedish taxes between sets at the gym (no exaggeration). Would reply below, but reached thread max depth. That tax advisor I got was really scummy

Doing the notary/banking/incorporation/tax-agency dance took a while. But that's only one part of the process. The continuous level of bureaucracy is really high too, and during the years I ran my corporation it never se

I've started a UG in Germany. It is one of the worst professional experiences I've ever had. It's extremely cumbersome, bureaucracy heavy, slow and expensive. In addition I've never encountered as many scummy companies (

Seeing how Apple licensed the full PowerVR hardware before, they probably currently have a license for the whatever hardware they based their design on.

Snap is not a standard, and never will be (RedHat will always ship flatpak for example). So Snap is no universal solution. At the same time snap packages have serious downsides for end users.

There are gas reserves in Germany that would last for months (I've seen 6-9month figures). Maybe cut gas purchase rate to 50%. That would give >1 year of runway.

Graphcore is just in the AI space, and Imagination is a company that ARM outcompeted to the extent that they barely exist anymore. SiFive is a real competitor, but they are much smaller and offer only a fraction of the IP portfolio of ARM.
