Claim: > Take a look at videos on YouTube by ThunderF00t. SpaceX is pretty problematic. Response: > Thunderf00t has basically 0 credibility when it comes to SpaceX. He predicted that starlink couldn't ever work, for example. In f

If you’re claiming the guy who started companies that revolutionized two industries is “our generation’s greatest fraud” then you’re a lost cause. He is prone to very unrealistic timelines and some hype, but at the end of the day he deliver

Where did this meme come from? I’ve seen it twice in 2 days and it’s categorically false. Has the left wing echo chamber really brainwashed itself into believing Musk purchased all his successes and deserves no credit? Even the “he bought T

What authority does the California Coastal Commission have to deny permits because they don’t like the personal activities of a company’s CEO? This seems like blatant abuse of power.

> Tamagui is one of the biggest projects you’ll find in terms of scope - it’s not one library, it’s over 200, and it’s targeting 4 platforms, 4 JS engines, and has a featureset that is unmatched. Tamagui is impressive, but TBH it's

In my very uninformed opinion, all we need is more clever indexing, prompting, and agents that can iteratively load parts of the codebase into their context and make modifications. Real engineers aren’t expected to hold 10,000 lines of exac

Starlink does not connect to cell towers. That’s just not a thing Starlink does, I assure you. Some people may purchase a 3rd party system that integrates both Starlink and cellular but that’s not standard. > the captain will be so proud

What are you talking about? Starlink antennas don’t connect to cell phone towers at all. Starlink is popular among boaters because it’s hands down the best satellite internet and has truly global coverage (except where not authorized, but a

Is this with the “temperature” parameter set to 0? Most LLM chatbots set it to something higher. It would be interesting to try varying it, as well as the seed.

I don't find TypeScript to be burdensome when rapidly iterating. Depending on how you've configured your dev environment you can just ignore type errors and still run the code.

Starlink is in a fairly unique position to be able to pretty easily guarantee that by routing over their laser network in space. In practice I don’t know how rapidly they’re able to route around damage to the ground network that could be sh

You want to automate your job internally to be able to get it done faster or focus on more interesting aspects, not externally such that you are replaceable by a tool, or a cheaper employee with a tool.

Technically you still need tsc or an alternative TypeScript compiler like swc, but bundlers sometimes include them in their own dependencies so you don’t have to think about it.

Framing it as “the other side” is part of the problem. There are extremes on both sides, and Alex Jones, and the small faction of his followers who harassed the Sandy Hook parents, are about as extreme as it gets.

For truly immersive VR video it seems we’ll need to support moving your head in 6 degrees of freedom, so you can peak around objects etc. We’re a long ways off from it being realtime, but I can imagine generative AI being used to interpolat
