That's a rather cynical take. Halide has been around for 7 years and they haven't gone to subscriptions.

I hope the parent comment had a heavy dose of sarcasm seeing as his net worth is $200B and Tesla is also doing well. He has certainly made some bizarre choices running Twitter though.

I don’t think that’s quite right. OpenAI first demoed and launched the “Sky” voice in November last year. The new demo doesn’t appear to have a new voice. I doubt it would take them long to prepare a new voice, and who’s to say they wouldn’

TypeScript is definitely statically typed. It is not a 100% “sound” type system, but very few languages actually are (Haskell, Reason, etc) And in your example of loading data from a server, if you have appropriate lint rules set up your ed

Both things can be true. In the short to medium term a bunch of people will be out of a job/career. In the long term society may benefit overall. On the other hand I’m not convinced humans are evolving fast enough to keep up with moder

I think ultimately you’d want it to summarize that down to something like: “Purchased socks from Amazon for $10 on 12/4/2024 at 5:04PM, shipped to Mom, 1600 Pennsylvania Av NW, Washington DC 20500, order number 1463355337 Probably

Web development has a long history of cargo culting “best practices”. IMHO separating markup from code is a holdover from progressive enhancement. That ship has sailed in most web apps.
