You have to use a managing script anyway even if you don't use FPM. FPM makes things easier by managing that part for you. In addition, FPM comes with some goodies that managing scripts don't have.

This just shows how plain stupid music labels are in the age of Internet. Seriously, store 50,000 copies of the same file? Insane.

I said “China no longer _relies_ on compulsory military service”, not “China no longer _has_ compulsory military service”. It is still there, but it compulsorily drafts significantly less people since 1998. So effectively, we no longer have

I'm wondering what's your screen resolution? I'm using it on 1920x1080 + 1600x1440 dual screen. To me, the ability of iTerm2 to vertically and horizontally split multiple terminals fullscreen on a big monitor is a huge plus. And for a lone

Optical drives are gonna be like floppy disks within a few years. Apple probably won't be bothered with it. The next iteration of MacBook Pros is likely to drop optical drives too.

Homebrew tries to reuse system packages as much as possible. MacPorts comes with its own everything. Homebrew tends to have fresher packages---new versions of popular packages are usually updated within hours. Haven't look back to MacPorts
