Yeah, and if that didn't directly contravene SPDY's specification it'd be a great option: http://www.chromium.org/spdy/spdy-protocol/spdy-protocol-dra...

Maybe I'm just an old fart, but I much prefer the {g,Mac}vim icon. Most of it is tolerable, but the sparkles just went too far imo.

Nifty example, but this is why we have integration test suites. PyPy, jython, ironpython etc all had/have incompatibilities as the language evolves and as they work out the quirks in their respective runtimes. This isn't compatible with cpy

For a junior position, yeah I'd get you in for an interview on the back of this. Anyone who would make a hiring decision without talking to you is insane (And you don't want to work for crazy people).

I see your point (and in my view- screw contributing if it means interacting with trac), but reading over that issue it does look like his patch wasn't backwards compatible. The issue was reopened 5 weeks ago so hopefully it resolves well :

Speaking as the author of a tremendous amount of software noone uses, I found this ridiculous. Sometimes it does hurt- mainly when you explain why what you're doing is better (or at least attempt to in objective terms) and someone still use

Ignoring the self-involvement inherent in the article, if you want to contribute to something big (There's nothing wrong with wanting that sense of "I helped build this"); go contribute to a big FOSS project! Fix a bug in rails[1] or django

Shouldn't that be what we're striving for? Much though I really hate to admit this, npm and the node community are on the right track here.

Is it though? Take this example, there's really no reason for me to do anything EXCEPT that the upstream dependencies have been yanked. Now I need to do a bunch of porting.

Cheers. It's a totally reasonable decision, and I agree with it generally- except in cases like this. I'll have a look through this issue and articulate my stance if it's not already represented.

Is it optional to show who you tip? I'm curious about who's contributions they're thanking. I'm guessing the people who've written the FOSS heroku runs on, but very curious.

Portability goes a long way, and iirc it's a smaller form factor. That said, I'm not sure that I'd choose it over the pixel either.

Not sure. I haven't seen one in the flesh, but I've heard good things about it. Nothing first, or even second hand though. Personally, I wouldn't buy an ultrabook for the graphics performance, cooling is just too problematic to do anything

Can you add a readme for what it's meant to do? It seems opinionated to the point of being meaningless.

My recollection could have been wrong, I seemed to recall the dialog seeming a little contrived but not to the degree you describe. I might try to pull it out of cache and then reconsider.
