I just saw this in another thread but: "label, not remove" is a better philosophy. I want to receive every message addressed to me. Enable me to be the judge and get out of the way.

Banning Trump from Twitter...the pendulum will indeed swing the other way. How long do we have. The clock is ticking on open source, decentralized solutions. Nothing else is relevant.

Appreciate this perspective here. I'm against censorship, and am surprised how clear your "label not remove" concept is. I like it.

What's the best video platform that supports open standards and censorship resistance? Is self-hosting the only option?

Yeah the whole "censoring" stuff ratcheted up really fast. Kinda crazy.

Yep as a business owner it's a great way to get out of paying PTO. These are all just the slow crawl of American businesses towards irrelevance.

Nice, this seems like the best way to do it. Fight workaholism, threatens the long term success of the business. The problem is without other changes you likely incentivize people to take "PTO" but still work.

I hear you. At least it's not free. Free is a red flag these days.

Doesn't #metoo prove the system is pretty badly broken? Maybe for people of privilege this plan works. But it's at the expense of others without.

I like this summary. Bend over for your overlords, and sell out the commons.

Playing the zero sum game, yes. Upvoting because I think it's important to talk about this, not because I agree. Appreciate everyone else's responses around this being a dark pattern where "bad publicity" gets paid off.

I hear you. Appreciate hearing your perspective. Sounds like I'm getting too in the weeds about word choice and misunderstanding.

Speculative assets, wild swings in value, terrible as a currency -- I hear you on all of these. My point is simply that the author of the article used "hyperinflation" as one of the weaknesses of Bitcoin. Though Bitcoin has many w

Appreciate the examples here. And how do you see this applying to cryptocurrencies with fixed supply? Can a fixed supply cryptocurrency incur external debt somehow?

Appreciate your explanation. Has hyperinflation ever struck a fixed supply currency? Curious for examples. My understanding of hyperinflation is pretty limited so I'm curious to hear more.

I agree with the context of your explanation. Government regulation of money supply is an important issue. But the author didn't say all that. In that paragraph they say Bitcoin is not a useful currency because the value fluctuates. T

I thought of this from Sam Altman recently who tweeted this, thought it might be handy. The question isn't, "What will I be doing in 10 years?" But, "What will I wish I'd started 10 years from now?" For me: ope

Yeah agreed. Wonder if this next decade will see either Windows or MacOS go fully open source.
