Ahh I wish I could keep doing that. Just yesterday windows decided to update itself in the middle of the night. Now my laptop is acting really slow even though no process is hogging CPU or ram. Tried removing the update but it's only s

I had followed this when I was learning DL through Andrew NG's course. In one of the lessons, he had the formula for calculating the loss as well as it's derivatives. I tried driving these formulas from scratch using what I learne

Is there a reason why you use rabbitmq instead of just using the whats available in the language (I understand if those primitives are hard to work with)

I am going through the same experience. For now only referrals seems to get me a response from HR. Otherwise it's just radio silence.

I used to be pretty anti walled garden but after seeing comments like yours I've come to understand and respect the other side. That being said more and more companies are now just blindly copying what apple is doing

Here's another way if you are a company. Ask applicants to check out your repo and give it a star. Bonus points if you are a startup and make the CEO personally message the applicant on LinkedIn

While that is true afaik a lot of scientist were hoping to find something that is not predicted by the standard model to get new ideas. I don't think that has planned out yet

The fact that it sometimes fails simple algorithms for large numbers but shows good performance in other complex algorithms with simple inputs seems to me that something on a fundamental level is still insufficient

To be fair LLMs are predicting the next token. It's just that to get better and better predictions it needs to understand some level of reasoning and math. However it feels to me that a lot of this reasoning is brute forced from the tr

It's pretty straightforward to build an RL environment for closed systems like chess but I don't think it's close enough for an AGI to learn. Like RLHF uses human feedback. Unless we come up with a way to scale that process A

For me my biggest worry is about jobs. Taking the current trajectory of trends in AI it seems we need bigger compute and better data. Only big players seem to be able to train and host such models. So as far as new jobs being because of AI,

I have a hard time believing that more jobs would be created. Like what a prompt engineer? As far as LLMs go, only companies that can afford the compute seem to be building one from scratch. So I don't think any new ML engineer jobs ar
