There is absolutely a reason to run a model under such unreasonable assumptions. It gives an upper bound. If you ran that unreasonable model and found that the cancer risk was minimal, then you could say with confidence that under a more re

Can I ask what you find inadequate about Vorta? I've recently started using it and it seems perfectly functional to me (although it's probably not an app I'd recommend to someone who doesn't already understand borg).

The vague timestamps like "an hour ago" are an odd choice, since they're very non-unique.

Someone else recommend the Obsidian kanban plugin in another comment. Obsidian runs on both desktop and mobile.

How many people do you interact directly with when ordering something from Amazon? (Not to pick on them specifically, they're just an example, hardly unique in this way.)

I call it the Soylent Green Principle: companies and other organizations often try to pretend otherwise, but they're actually all made of people. I have to remind myself of this regularly.

"Left side of the boat" is a lot more syllables than "port". And using different words makes it less likely that the listener will be confused by multiple uses of the same word to mean different things.

The advantage of using separate words for the frame of reference of the boat is that you can still use left and right with their normal meanings as well.

For all the technical details given in the Wikipedia article, it doesn't really explain what this is or what function it serves, does it?

Even without the nearly unavoidable left-side obstructions, just writing on a flat surface is still painful for me (cursive is doubly so).

I dunno about other people, but I'm left-handed, so writing too much hurts . I resented my school teachers when they forced me to write out essays by hand instead of typing them. I replace writing with typing at pretty much every oppo

I think it's just because many single Magit commands run multiple git commands behind the scenes in order to collect all the info. So any slowdown in how long it takes to run a single command is multiplied proportionally.

Magit isn't exactly a library (although I think it is also that). It's more of an application that happens to be implemented within emacs. There's a number of commercial git clients, so paying for Magit doesn't seem unr

Since you've said elsewhere in the thread that you want to sail solo, I might also suggest getting into windsurfing. A windsurfer is a solo craft and smaller and more portable than a sailboat (no trailer required, just a roof rack), an

Sure, we're not currently hooking up AI to guns (at least not in a civilian context), but cars are also lethal weapons, and multiple companies are competing very hard to be allowed to put an AI in charge of one.

But how do you trust the output of the summarization? Do you trust yourself to identify when the model goes off the rails and starts making things up?

I don't think it's as cut-and-dry as you're making it sound. This question seems like something you need an actual lawyer for.

On top of what everyone else has said, someone might simply be using a non-native resolution on their monitor. (Does MacOS still default to non-integer scaling on MacBooks?)

Yes, the scaling induces visual artifacts that pretty substantially misrepresent what each algorithm should look like. (In particular it adds vertical and horizontal bars that aren't on the actual image.) Definitely make sure you view
