In other news, the CA Legislature wrote a bill in 2022 that would allow all the private utilities to essentially destroy the rooftop solar industry by gouging the consumer directly and essentially make your electric bill an income tax [1].

Pareto principle means you should prioritize the 80%+ use case. Most of the time is what you want to spend all your time/money optimizing while making also the other use cases possible.

My analogy is an EV - of course your EV isn't going to pull current that's dangerous but fast charging it has been shown to degrade battery life - especially if the EV doesn't have active cooling for the battery pack. Putting

It's not the GaN, it's the higher wattage that's possible. Fast charging can increase device/battery temperature which, for fan-less designs like iPhones or MacBook Air, can lead to slightly higher degradation.

Disagree [1]. Blackrock owns Invitations Homes, which does indeed own a large portion of US housing stock. They buy in cash or with loans that are a lot less interest rate than you or I would pay. [1] https://slate.com/bus

Yeah, I got 5 of these for my kids and parents in 2021 for $750. Rock solid and still worth the price as there's nothing in the price range on the Windows side that really compares.

2 monitors is so passé. It was necessary in the age where you could only get 16:9 monitors (due to 1080p format dominance). Nowadays, I do far better with a 34" or 49" widescreen format. My home monitor is 32:9 and far better th

Lots of people in the US are anti-Israel and anti-Ukraine spending. Many are also against the current US government's actions. Are they "pro-CCP"? Honestly, you think anyone who disagrees with the regime are tankies?

Are you talking about basic cruise control that's been around since forever? In the 90s I drove a Dodge Spirit from Florida to NY using cruise most of the way - the cruise adjustment was incredibly responsive.
