Before Apple Silicon, I'd agree with you - but that was mostly because Intel couldn't produce a low-power chip. Now with M series, the Airs are quite nice and usable for most people. I'm typing this on a stock M1 Air and it&

No one runs numbers thinking the non-apartment dwelling population is going 100% EV. So 30% EV adoption is pretty mainstream, but not if it's 30% of 65%.

About 35% of the US population lives in an apartment. Without that population you're never going to get mainstream EV adoption.

Most EV owners charge at home because it's priced as a high end vehicle (some mid-range ones exist - I drive one of the few low-priced ones). However a sizable portion of the population (35%) live in apartments - which are notoriously

Then this entire thread is irrelevant for you. If you have stuff you want to keep private and not share with your family (e.g. diary, pr0n stash) then don't put it in your password manager.

1Password stores the MFA details as well. Your phone/email passwords and all can be stored in there as well. Since my parents are aging, we have a bit of experience with this process.

Solution: use a password manager, and write down your key/password details on a piece of paper that you store in physical vault - the key to which you can instruct to provide via last will & testament.

This is to prevent the EU DMA rules (and 3rd party EU app stores) from infecting their other markets. The idea being, I could travel to the EU (or just buy an EU iPhone), install a 3rd party App Store + apps, then happily use a non-Appstore

I think the frustrating part is that if less people were driving there would be less traffic. Bike lanes won't change the equation as heavily but mass transit sure would.

I would also add: legal code for theft of bikes is analogous to what we have for cars; Law Enforcement takes bike theft seriously and there is a nationwide clearing house of information on stolen bikes/parts. I don't go exclusive

Your analogy would break down as, if the airplane were intact and had good chain of custody, then the owner would at the very least sell it to a junkyard that would part out the most valuable parts. More likely it would be sold to be reused

Are you sure about this? I hear the rates vary by platform. For example Tidal was pushing for much higher royalties as part of its push to get more artists to sign with it.

Perhaps Apple needs to separate geographies in its account setup. Let Epic have the EU account, but disable them everywhere else. Because in the US/Asia, Epic has no DMA protections.

I'm not sure I agree with that. The things you can buy on Target are definitely more curated - for tech it's a poor selection. I'm at the point in life where if it's crap I question whether I need it. Most of the times

Any chance you could lock down his account (gatekeeper) and keep your own admin user? It's too bad there's no easy way to simply "grant access" to installs remotely (if you're the admin).
