If anyone is interested, we are leveraging delimited continuations as the foundational paradigm for structured concurrency and async flow control in the browser. I gave a talk about it recently at Michigan Typescript: https://www

If you like the middleware system in express you might be interested in starfx, which implements the same middleware but for fetching and data synchronization in the FE. It has a simple but powerful state management system and leverages str

That’s a no for me, dog. Way too much code. I’d rather enforce a policy that config can’t be mutated.

You haven’t described anything different from what the OP is saying: the main dev behind svelte now works for a company that wants you to use SSR for all your projects. That absolutely impacts feature development to favor sveltekit. The sam

rclone is so cool! https://pgs.sh is using similar tech but focusing on a managed service specifically for static sites.

I find it way easier to read this modified version — and I use ruby at work. It’s not even close.

While working on effection@v3 ( https://github.com/thefrontside/effection ) we spent a bunch of time ensuring that our delimited continuations could handle deep recursive call stacks in Deno. PR: https://githu

Yep, same. Yelp is not nearly as good in Apple Maps but for in town directions it works great for me.

Been paying for Kagi for 6+ months and very happy with it. I’m pretty anti subscriptions so that’s saying a lot for a service that is otherwise free. I do have to dump into google for local searches every once in awhile, but otherwise happy

As far as I remember it isn’t that simple. Moving operations now require extra queries and reshuffling of order. Doable, just far less elegant for a very common use case.

This works well until you need to preserve children order then it doesn’t quite work without further mods

Your question is grammatically correct but doesn’t make any sense. Software isn’t an industry, it is used in every industry.

I’d arguing you cannot meaningfully separate them, they are on a continuum. As a thought experiment, you don’t know where you are going to land socioeconomically, which would you choose? Now or then?

I built https://prose.sh off of Charm and while it was a lot of fun, nothing beats what you can build in the browser. Having said that, SSH apps are very ergonomic for the demo on this site. We have been able to build a lot of c

I find the most brutal part about gaming on linux is not the performance once I'm in the game, but getting into the actual game. Launchers via Lutris (e.g. battle.net) take forever to bootup, which was not the case on windows. Overall
