My understanding is that FTX probably holds a ton of cryptocurrency assets or is invested in other companies with cryptocurrency exposure and does not want a 'contagion' to spread. This might work, but I am not sure FTX has enoug

Hitler didn't start out running concentration camps, there was a long lead up to that. The Knight of Long Knives, where 'opponents' of the Nazis were assassinated was in 1934. Kristallnacht happened in late 1938. There are

I grew up in a small, dying town in Texas. There was still Ambulance service, so really depends on how small (<800 people). There are generally no jobs, so there are plenty of childcare providers from other young parents (who probably

I constantly see people say they won't buy an EV because of recharge times and not being able to go on a 'road trip'. There seems to be some misunderstanding about how easy it will be to add hydrogen filling stations vs char

I mean for primary residence buyers, payments will still go up with interest, even though the asset price increase may slow or even decrease in value. So no, low interest rates are not really in your favor unless you already own the asset

CA has prop 13 and we currently have incredibly low mortgage interest rates. SF has an amplified effect, but housing is going up faster than wages pretty much everywhere. Prices are up more than 40% in the desirable cities and town outsid

Seems like about 5 years ago things took off, but if you stick to small job pool areas you will probably see jobs near the same rate as they were back then. I took a SV-based job to get leveraged up, now work remote for same rate, which is

Right, I should have said more specifically Musk's FSD claims, the actual current function of autopilot seems pretty great vs. where we were.

Tesla's lead is not unassailable, my point is the other car companies are still lagging. Mach-e is the lone offering from Ford, who just released a brand new Bronco which has no electric version. Ford also has worse infrastructure su

News articles have been puplished for the last decade or so about how Tesla was going to die to these larger car companies when the larger car companies really start making electric cars. Which could be true, but so far, not so much. The

If you look a the overhead map of Marfa, you'll see it isn't particularly land constrained. However, people living in trailer houses on small lots in town are seeing their taxes go up, so they eventually have to move. Also perve

I mean the people paying $150,000 for a lot in Marfa (looking at listing on Zillow) are probably not locals from those $39k income households. Perversely, the way property taxes in Texas work, this likely means that anyone under 65 is watc

Yeah, just the idea of getting to Marfa hurts me to think about. Made the drive from El Paso to Austin a few times, can't imagine regularly visiting that area for pleasure or wanting to live there.

Marfa is in the middle of nowhere, the jobs seem to be of the landscaper/service industry type unless you are arriving with money from somewhere else. Sounds more like a touristy set of rich estates at this point, I expect the laborers

The problem is unless you hold onto the stock, you are not tied to the long-term growth of the company. I think this is really trying to optimize to keep only the high performers without having to have a traditional stack ranking system. In

In C, n=f(x) plainly means the variable n is assigned the value returned from f(x). While you don't know what f(x) does, you can tell it is a function. In c++, the = could be a function too, that does unexpected things. Critically, i
