I think the initial r&d to get to this point is more along the lines of a nation-state investment. Google paid much more than $110k to get this working. It's not clear exactly how much it would cost to "weaponize", ei

A jtag debugger isn't the same as just debugging a local program on your system. Normally it is required to do initial hardware bringup, where you need physical access to the cpu. Probably not wise to ship one enabled on production g

It's about expectations, you might want to not live next to a rental. Beyond drunken idiots, unknown people coming and going, dragging luggage through shared halls etc. Sure, a worst case long term neighbor can be worse, but the avera

I'm sure the hotels will charge as much as possible, but since they pay taxes that assumably (since it was illegal) AirBnB hosts didn't, sounds like a win for the City Government of NY. Just an observation, I don't really hav

Probably not illegal, you are required to act "in the best interests" of the person. From experience with another family member who gave an outsider POA, even malicious POA actions are very difficult to attempt to prosecute.

Some people love teal and pink. Having to look at or try to sell a house next to a monstrosity can be pretty horrible (or the neighbors with junker cars all over the lawn). Having been in a couple of regulated areas, I'm not much of

Alcoholic drinks sold in a package come with warning labels. I've seen reports 1-2 drinks a day may improve longevity, but I doubt it would be acceptable to label every beer as "youth potion", you have to limit intake for po

I have had some 0% years during the early 2000's. A couple times I've seen companies slash 5% across everyone to not do layoffs. Just nit happening right now in the US, enjoy the good times while they last!

That's the exact opposite of liberal, "open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values." There are plenty of intelligent people in all parties, disagreeing with them doesn't make them idiots.

Sure, but you have to live in Houston. Austin house prices in good school districts are expensive. I just sold a house for 10k in a small town in a part of Texas with almost no jobs, so you can find houses, but houses close to the biggest

Without owning the foundry, it's not clear if this is an IBM tech demo that goes nowhere, or if it effects GF's roadmap. GF uses a Samsung process for 14nm (really 14/20 hybrid), so it really looks like IBM is out of the fou

Not clear what IBM doing 7nm means, really. They no longer own a foundry, and don't have any chips in normal products that compete with Intel. IBM also demonstrated some really high clock speeds previously, but the Power8 is still a

Are you double taxed? Many countries have reciprocal taxing agreements with the U.S. whereby you get credits for foreign taxes. That's how it worked when I was a U.S. citizen in Canada.
