Wouldn't it be better to pay police/firefighters/teachers more? If it means a little bit more in taxes for getting well trained (in dealing with the public), empathetic police officers, I am all for it.

The solution for it is, sadly, more data. So I imagine if Google or Apple can listen, "see" and has access to your every electronic communication do. They could eventually build a model that "knows" everything about you.

I wonder how people with a terrible sense of direction (like me) handle this roundabout. Seems like a nightmare.

I am probably extremely naive but I have a feeling I am going to hear a lot about this in the future and that I am witnessing the start of something great. All the best!

I apologize not adding anything new the discussion but just wanted to thank you both for a nice and reasoned discussion. Wish everybody (including myself) talked like this.

Well that's not how representative democracy works. You voted-in your representatives. Now they will make the decisions for you. If you don't like their decisions, vote them out the next time.

Seems like GM just doesn't care about the Bolt. They are not available at all places and they do very little marketing for the Bolt. And finally, I guess it's for cutting costs, the insides of the car seems too "plastic-y&quo

Well, a couple of weeks back, I bought a car. I would have bought if 35K Model 3, if one was available. Why? Because I didn't want to burn gas when there might be other options available; because I wanted to do my part in keeping an el

Very true. How people learn depends on different factors like past knowledge, interest in the subject material etc. etc. But these lists do help in decreasing the search space when trying to find material to learn a new subject.

Reading the comments here a persistent theme seems to be that the documentation is lacking. Something that might help is creating a "dog-fooding" team mostly filled with interns. This team will be responsible for creating samples

I would guess that the acquisition will not affect Github in any detrimental way. I would argue that developer good-will is a more valuable commodity to Microsoft now than in the years past. More happy users of Github => more happy devel

A nice, safe introduction. There's a lot of talk about people leaving github for other platforms. If there are actually doing it, it seems like a short-sighted move. I understand why people who lived through the earlier years of Micros

I haven't read through all the comments here but so far I haven't seen anyone give credit to Kim Jong Un. He's probably a pretty smart dude and has been planning these moves ever since he was a kid. At the end of all this, he

I think the ultimate ideal that humans should strive to is to learn to live without a ruler. If that's impossible then learn to live under the rule of an automaton. I guess what I am trying to say is that we need to move away from our
