Hey HN! I just released keygaen, a PGP web app. Using it, you can sign, verify, encrypt and decrypt data with PGP in your browser. It also supports key generation, imports and export. Written in Go for WebAssembly and works fully offline th

That's awesome! How have you gotten it to work with CGo though? A simple CC="zig cc" doesn't seem to work because CGo (as of 1.16) tries to use -E which zig cc doesn't seem to support ...

If I remember correctly, it is much harder to use Firefox's components outside of Firefox than it is to do with Chromium/Blink. There is a reason why there is no relevant Electron alternative based on Firefox/Gecko. On Androi

That tool is proprietary; BloomRPC[1] has 80% of the features and is free and open source. [1] https://github.com/uw-labs/bloomrpc

Hey HN! I wrote bofied, a modern & libre Go network boot server with a WASM PWA frontend and WebDAV support. If you like to PXE boot, but not spend a lot of time editing config files, this might be of use to you. I'd love to get yo

I switched from Node to Go half a year ago; tooling is incredible and the fact that the output is a single static binary is just so much easier to handle from a DevOps endpoint. The language itself is also incredibly simplistic, which means

I also entered - the parts price is really cheap, with a Pi zero going for 5€ and the camera going for another 5€. Looking forward to it, FLOSS IoT projects are always fun :)

I have to disagree with this. I'd even argue that the direct opposite is the case: Go is so conservative in it's decisions, it's hard to find a project from years ago which doesn't "just work" with `go run`. Th

Well, the alternative to PWAs is publishing through proprietary app stores - the users might not care to much, but it's incredibly important for us as devs. Also, one really can't trust a proprietary browser like Safari with their

Hey HN, liwasc, a project I've been working on for about half a year, is finally ready! It is a fast network scanner, port scanner and WoL server with a gRPC API and a PWA frontend. I'd love to get your feedback :)

I wrote pojde[1] a while back to solve that exact usecase, using my iPad (or any device with a web browser) to code from anywhere. It creates multiple isolated code-server instances on a remote server and handles toolchain installs, updates
