That’s awesome! Maybe one can ditch the Widevine CDM in Chromium thanks to this.

Thanks for the link! This looks like a significant improvement over my current solution of trying to pass callbacks ... which aren’t transferable types sadly ;)

It has not yet been implemented on the desktop, but the Web Share Target API seems to be the solution for the future: https://web.dev/web-share-target/ I absolutely second this btw. Being able to use something like ht

Thanks for the info! Latest Chrome Beta (or Canary to be precise) speeded up my start time with some service workers from >30s to just above 7s, which is almost the same speed as Firefox (albeit with a few more extensions).

I've used it because my uni still forces us to use Java ( https://github.com/alphahorizonio/jnebulark ) but the experience hasn't been that great for the actual framework (bindings are way to hard to do; I have

One of the reasons I really like Element is the fact that it runs completely in the browser, no need to install a native app - which, lets be realistic, is really only a viable option (for the average consumer) if you submit to the propriet

+1 for libp2p. While I've found their public WebRTC stars (basically signaling servers) quite slow for now, js-libp2p is growing very quickly and quite usable from my experience.

Awesome! I just hope that some institution (looking at you, EU) forces Apple to finally allow third-party browser engines on iOS, so that IPFS support is available on that platform (w/o a gateway).

The reasoning behind the GNOME UX is described in their HIGs and is quite similar to iOS, with it's pros and cons: https://developer.gnome.org/hig/stable/ . GNOME 40 is also developed openly and a lot of live

I absolutely see your point; in theory, a web of many engines and browsers would be awesome. In practice however, at least IMHO, Safari isn’t really a competitor to Chrome at this point, but rather a means of Apple to curb the web and to co

True. Apple is currently the biggest threat to the free and open web as (they even force their own browser engine on their users and ban anyone who tries to use anything else). The EU should step in and force them, just like they forced Mic

Honestly the lack of PWA support (Spotify, Figma, code-server, background sync etc.) was the reason I dropped Firefox earlier this year. I now have a system with nothing but DWM, st and Chromium, and it’s beautiful; no maintenance, no hundr

As someone who uses Elinks/Links a lot, I'd highly recommend switching out Elinks with Links as the former is a now-deprecated fork of the latter [0][1] [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ELinks#cite_note-2 [1

I highly recommend trying out VSCodeVim. Use it for Go, JS, C, Rust and more - it's really enjoyable, and even stuff like C - W works just fine.

You probably haven't written modern JS. Since ~2016 (ES6) the language is basically completely different and really concise now; consider ES5: function increment() { var out = [] for (let i of [1,2,3,4,5]) { out.push
