Download Calibre to manage your ebooks. It makes conversion pretty much transparent, and with the right plugins you can set it up to remove the DRM from the books you purchase.

Would putting the MP3 on your phone and playing it into the entrypads mic get you in as well? I'm picturing waling up to any apartment building, choosing an apartment number at random, and then just playing the MP3 when someone answers (or

Yes it is. Obviously, this is just my anecdotal experience, but the first time I tried to install Linux the troubleshooting documentation I was working off of only mentioned eth0. I tried to configure everything to eth0, and nothing worked.

If you look at the history of health care, it didn't start out that way. Before World War II, people generally paid out of pocket for most medical expenses, but also carried health insurance for cataclysmic events. In WWII, the US governmen

Having a useful notification light is one of the few things I miss about my old BB. I would like to know, at a glance, that my Incredible is both charging and has a new message.

For anyone still holding out hope--I just got mine from UPS ten minutes ago. I checked the "regular user" box too, so they're not just going to devs and students.

Edited: Bought the package and attempted to install the games. Of the five, on Ubuntu 10.10 x64: Braid: Installer was a .bin which gave me some ELFCLASS64 errors, but the game runs. I just can't figure out how to get it windowed, so it's cu

That was exactly my response. "If their default action is to send me five separate emails immediately after paying, am I going to be getting emails for the rest of my life for trying this thing out?" I'm touchy about my inbox. I let DailyBu

I spent a month in Egypt when I was much younger. Nothing drives home the beauty, the fragility, and somehow the hospitality of the country like this image. I didn't get to see Luxor or Aswan (it was out of season), and I missed Alex becaus

Disclosure: I skimmed the article. But, basically, the gist is right. The middle of the porn market has fallen out. The only movement is in the super low end stuff (the kind that advertises 6+ hours and sells for $5), with a little bit of a

To play devil's advocate, especially in a situation like Khan's Academy, $3,000 will end up being a very small sum compared to all the benefit new users who may not have found it another way will derive from its existence. I watched a close

You've got a misleading title there. You don't need to read this book, you just (in your own words) "want to read it." So, of course you have a choice. Read something else. The universe doesn't owe you a constant stream of your preferred

Sorry, but does Learning Python 2009 really have a single-device restriction? Every single book I've purchased for my Kindle will work on my android phone, my Windows VM, and my Kindle. If I had an iPhone/iPad/iPod I could read on those as

Exactly. Well, that and I'm sick of everything in the goddamned world being a subscription service now. Can't you do it like Pandora and make a big, obvious, ONE TIME PAYMENT, WILL NOT RENEW option? Or better yet, just give me an empty box

How'd you handle the issue of employee theft? I'm a heavy drinker, friendly, and I tip well, so generally at the end of the night my tab comes out to 50% or less of what it should be. As a consumer I've seen this handled differently at man

No offense, but you're not making any sense. The current generation has not lasted longer than previous generations, and pretty much anyone in pre-algebra could plot you a graph that would show "we can expect the PS4 and XBox 720 by 2013 a

The truth is that this practice of "don't offer, but do if asked" is the basic operating method of most large companies. As a customer you have to learn to be equally careful in wording your requests. If someone calls in wanting a credit
