I think 25 is a pretty low limit. This is all anecdotal, but I know probably a few hundred people in the 21-30 age bracket, and I can only think of three who get a paper (the WSJ in every case) delivered daily. There are a few more who wil

I think his projections are absurd, but honestly, the man has a dream and a product, so I don't begrudge him his enthusiasm. That said, I live in Philadelphia, and I used to live in NYC. I have a license and have driven in both cities, but

I used to do that, but I think now the better recommendation is just to ditch Apple. My HTC Incredible is a great phone, and I love Amarok.

I think more than that he wants a search engine that projects confidence. Newegg does something I think is brilliant, and somewhat related--it watches what you browse, and if you browse enough without buying anything, it sends you an email

I agree with all of that, except I've found 2 to be the most useful, especially with regards to how I manage Reader. My time spent in feeds has been a lot less hurried since I learned to stop worrying and love the Mark as Read button. I jus

I've never met the author of the article, but I assume he's the type of person who is bothered when his Reader unread tally switches over to the plus mark. I mean, honestly, tweets are 140 characters or less. The average tweet takes a hand

Thanks for the picture. This is a minor but persistent pet peeve of mine. The first thing I do on a fresh Linux install is grab terminus.

Here's the entire original thread in case anyone might find the quote funnier in context, without the horrid highlighting: http://groups.google.com.au/group/comp.std.c/browse_thread/t...

I think a more accurate assessment would be: Imagine your friend gave you $5,000 for lunch, but agreed that he'd take your Apple Newton in exchange for $4,500, in the hopes that some day people would like to buy small parts of the Newton fo

As a former CSR cog, this is a great tip. Just call back. Some CSRs are dicks, some think you're a dick, and some just aren't aware of when they can apply credits. I certainly have no love for BOA, but the one time I was in a similar situ

The $199 was never the attraction for me, and seemed unlikely. $300? Ehh... Maybe. I always figured it'd land in the $500 range, and this isn't too far off. The real carrot for me was the idea of a prepaid $29/mo data only plan, which I

Yeah, if these docs are true, I'm sticking with Verizon and my BlackBerry; not that I have any special love for either one of them. $80/mo? That's what I pay Verizon. $180 for a subsidized, non-Apple smartphone? Keep your ten percent. T

And of course the only options ever presented in stories like these are more regulation and stricter enforcement. How about lowering tax rates to compete with Ireland?

Is there any better way to phrase this than Bookmark Archiving? I was assuming it was just bookmarks syncing ala Xmarks or Google, which honestly is more my fault than theirs. I'm probably not the only one, though. Won't sign up--Firefox'

You're right--if the school is forcing some students to take that class to lose weight, and is forcing them to follow an exercise regime, it should also force them to eat healthily. But that logic only applies to the students being forced

Another vote for Arch. I've only been using Linux for half a year, maybe, and in that time I've tried Ubuntu, Gentoo, and Arch. Gentoo will always hold a place in my heart for teaching me more in three days than I learned in three months o
