afaik they have a tiered service architecture, where tier 1 services are allowed to rely on tier 0 services but not vice-versa, and have a bunch of reliability guarantees on tier 0 services that are higher than tier 1. It is kinda cool that

Well, that just means that secondhand evs might cater to people who could not or don’t want to shell out a lot of money for new EVs. As the battery tech and service infrastructure matures we probably will see less of this though.

Github is no longer a trusted nor a reliable platform. Moving at least the oss stack to atproto (or any other open network) is an excellent way to safeguard it against Big Tech, Government censorship etc. Love to see this.

Doubt this will happen. Coal production in the US has plummeted, coal mines and infrastructure is not coming back. At best they would import cheap coal (but maybe not with tarrifs?) but even that would require sizable capex in ports… its ju

Literally every other company has a conversational chatbot ( eg Gemini). Theres nothing sticky about chatgpt; if they raise prices users will immediately switch to another chatbot.

To summarize: * questionable demand for AI products make the DC investments risky (makes sense) * DCs being built in “remote” areas with cheap land may become obsolete/replaced by other DCs making use of said cheap land (questionable;

I haven’t been keeping up but is there still hype over full mesh like istio/linkerd? Ive seen it tried in a couple of places but didn’t work super well; the last place couldn’t because datadog apparently bills sidecar containers as add

It’s a terrifying experiment in hollowing out the civil service. At some point a critical mass of Federal workers may be lost which brings the entire machinery of the Federal Government to a standstill. It’s also not clear how to recover fr

What this shows quite clearly is that petrostates have too much money and power. Its astonishing how many crucial sectors of the American economy have significant Gulf investment; and may soon be completely controlled by them. The only rati

Someone mentioned Artifactory; but its honestly not needed. I would very highly recommend an architecture where you build everything into a docker image and push it to an internal container registry (like ecr; all public clouds have one) fo

There isn’t a rational argument for this policy. Trump has an irrational hatred of wind energy in particular. His minions are implementing his commands.

As much as I hate Meta, I have to admit that live demos are hard, and if they go wrong we should have a little more grace towards the folks that do them. I would not want to live in a world where everything is pre-recorded/digitally al
