Madison Avenue is about demand generation not demand harvesting. You can't market to people that don't realize they have a problem or a need. You could invent the wheel and there will be no demand to harvest because everyone has always dra

It has nothing to do with being ripped off or disagreeing. Michael Porter would say that the format and presentation of a PDF has little competitive advantage over a list of links on a web page.

I love the textures. I also love the contrast of the wood and concrete. It also looks very well lit. The first thought that came to mind was that this is the type of office space that Howard Roark would architect. http://en.wikipedia.org

USB used to need a bit of charge to negotiate a session with the host so you couldn't charge a completely dead battery by connecting to a PC. I'm not sure if that is still true. I just tried to charge a dead Canon point-and-shoot camera o

It wouldn't work in this case. Digg did a Round C in 2008 of $28.7m. That's when they were over funded. Reddit was founded in 2005. Digg was founded in 2004 and did a Round A at a reasonable $2.8m in late 2005. http://www.crunchbase.com

This is completely rational if you consider that Larry Ellison's goal is to build TJ Watson's IBM. Oracle wants to be a systems company instead of a software license company. http://www.zdnet.com/blog/btl/ellison-wants-to-model-new-ora...

It probably shouldn't be referred to as Tim Ferris' "no grain" diet. The original post was Robb Wolf, author of The Paleo Solution. The goal isn't to eat no grain. The goal is to eat no gluten. Grain just happens to contain gluten. It s

HP/Palm have one possible advantage: bundling for the enterprise. Give away a Palm phone with each purchase of a PC by corporate accounts. Apple essentially does this in the consumer market. MacBooks and the iPod Touch get bundled togethe

But if I were TC, I wouldn't be happy with that outcome by itself at all. Saying that one "wouldn't be happy" implies that an emotional decision is being made rather than a rational decision. But if TC can afford to take this to trial an

It's never cheap to hit 0-60 in 3.7s or less. My Kawasaki 650R does 0-60 in about 3.8. I paid less than $10k for it. The ZX-6R can do it in about 3.1s. A Ducati 1098 will do it under 3s.

Facebook and farmville are the ghettos of the social media world They are more like the soap operas of the social media world. In the 70s, 80s, and 90s the decision maker in the household would have nothing to do at 2PM in the afternoon.
