The workflow is still easier that way. I do have to go through the step of post-processing…but I'm doing that with JPEGs from the phone regardless. Completely tangential rant: #nofilter is dumb. Your camera is actually producing a l

Does your phone read the RAW files, or are you shooting JPEG? (iOS and macOS don’t preview Fuji RAW files, which is not a surprise, given how they require very special handling as they’re not traditional Bayer filter sensors.) And how is

Are you sure cameras don’t do that? I honestly do not know. They definitely do for still photos—Nikon has had chromatic aberration correction and lens distortion correction for quite a while, and it’s keyed to individual lenses. If they are

As a photographer on the side: nahhhh. I have a “real” camera because I want control. Give me the RAW data, and I can move mountains. What have made interchangeable lens cameras increasingly irrelevant: the workflow. On a phone, somewhat

Frankly, it’s kind of hard to pitch blockchain if you’re at all honest with your stakeholders. “So, we want to recreate databases, except vastly slower, far less energy-efficient, and way harder to use.”

It really is worth pointing out, again, that it’s $10 billion…for the entire estimated lifetime cost of the project. Amortized out over 20 years? I’m not saying it’s nothing…but given the US federal budget, it’s kind of nothing. Compared to

As with everything, it’s possible to get just far too down the rabbit hole and chase increasingly marginal, and possibly imaginary, improvements. (You should see my dad’s 8 tackle boxes full of fishing lures.) But…if you’re a developer o
