That was a surprisingly direct and non-hostile directive. Wish my company communicated like this.

Wow, fig looks so cool. Shame it's shutting down. I don't see a clear explanation for how Amazon Q replaces it.

Golang is my favorite right now, but I think it’s possible to create readable code in many languages, even ones I like less. The JavaScript and its ilk strike me as some of the worst of the “modern” languages. Again, no hate here. I started

This code is unreadable chaos, before and after. This article just reminds me why I hate JavaScript so much. I know you frontend engineers can’t avoid it, but I wish we could come up with something better.

It is. A monorepo with strong boundaries between components is ideal, as opposed to a monorepo-monolith, where everything depends on everything. I think it'd be far easier to explain and justify this polylith pattern if you approached

The supercharger network isn’t shutting down or even shrinking. We don’t really know the reason why this team was fired, but it’s obviously not because the charging network is losing priority. Maybe the team had internal politics or low per

I genuinely haven’t experienced any of this frustration. My windows usually remember where they were when I plug into my dock with two 4K monitors.

So funny. I always felt the lack of exceptions in Go was one of its strongest selling points.

Pseudo-journalism at its best. There's nothing special about the CT's pedestrian safety compared to all the other massive trucks on US roads.

The main reason I was considering the CT was the promise of 500 mile range. My biggest issue with ~300 mile range is that I can't go anywhere for actual adventures because there isn't enough charge for a round trip.

I bought one four months ago. I wouldn't have pulled the trigger if I didn't think I was getting my money's worth. Would be nice to have 10k extra, but such is life.

To be fair, Autopilot, which this driver was using, is included with all Teslas at no extra cost. Personally, I find that road trips are significantly less draining with Autopilot engaged. In the same way that moving from basic cruise contr

This is anecdotal, but I'm always looking at the road. If the car starts braking, (and this isn't exclusive to Tesla,) I already know if there is an obstacle or not, and my foot is always hovering over the pedals. I feel like such

Since it's a highway, the car would have been operating on autopilot, not FSD. The two stacks had not, and I think still have not been merged.

Driving in traffic (or in a city in general) with my foot off the pedals sounds borderline insane. I know this is anecdotal, but I've experienced multiple brands slamming on the brakes. You must be prepared to intervene. It's not

If autopilot starts braking even slightly and it shouldn't, I immediately take control. For this to happen, the driver clearly was not prepared to take control in any way. It's like driving on cruise control with your legs crossed

This is a nothingburger. I'm surprised to see such shallow responses here. A giant company made a small regulatory misstep in one country. Laws change constantly, missteps likely happen all the time. It's a tiny fine for a small m

Yesterday, I drove my M3 from Nashville to Chicago in the sub-zero wind. Yes, range was slightly down, but not nearly enough to frustrate me. I imagine today's battery chemistry won't be viable for mass adoption further North, but
