Modern sound engineers seem to expect that I own several thousand dollars of high-end sound equipment capable of reproducing the full dynamic range they've sculpted. It's super annoying.

Left that out for brevity, but good point. I suppose I'm trying to highlight that you could categorize a lot of things as essential (see the last two years.)

I agree, but so is food. Good luck convincing the govt to draw that line.

All spam filtering apps for iOS have this permission though, right? That’s just how it works. The permission is just very blunt to make it clear.

I spend so much time exploring repos related to work or personal projects. I literally do not have time at the end of my day where I think to myself, "you know what, I really want to find some more repos to star and never look at again

Sex offenders are convicted criminals. You're saying convicted criminals of the most heinous crimes are equivalent to your neighbors who invoke a right that's existed in common law for centuries. I understand this is a highly cont

Ok, I read it, and I'm still confused. The CA govt is doxing people who went through the arduous process of legally obtaining a CCW?

I don't understand all the attention these articles are getting. If you don't like it, stop using it. Why are you going to so much effort to complain? You can write bad code in any language. You can write difficult to read code in

In my opinion, none of those things are real problems that need solving. They’re fabricated to fit a technology.

They just refactored their iOS app too, thankfully. It's not a stale product, by any means.

Not to cast shade on you, by any means, but if you're an engineer (which I think is the implied everyone,) I'm surprised you don't!

I was one of those people, and I didn't buy it because of battery life. Unrealistic expectations, perhaps, but that's the reason.

Hide My Email is an awesome product, no doubt, but why the mention of Have I Been Pwned? Security through obscurity is not worth two cents. Use a password manager and generate your passwords.

I'm totally for raising the bar when it comes to terminology like "ethically raised," but I'd eat dog meat if it were good. Why not?

An empty string "bug" report is not a great example of a show-stopper since it's arguably a terrible way to use posgres.

I'm not making an argument, I'm simply addressing the parent comment. Perhaps the status quo in question is whether forcing service members to take a vaccine (totally lawful) is justified in this case. Even the CDC director is ope
