You can easily do that in emacs. Throw this in your init.el (scroll-bar-mode -1) (tool-bar-mode -1) (menu-bar-mode -1) (global-linum-mode 0) And it will instantly look a lot cleaner. If you want to toggle it you can turn it into a function
