I think our understanding of human rights has evolved since the 1600s. This is a very interesting ethical question.

The OP is not stating the approach is bad. I think the claim is that Facebook CPC is implemented somewhat fraudulently. What is promised is not what is delivered.

CPC is just the wrong model for Facebook. It turns into "spray and pray". In this case, nobody is looking for a personal budget app, it just shows up uninvited. Whereas with Google, we know someone is likely looking for it when th

I don't understand the point of this article. Isn't this widely known by ... everyone?

This sounds like a typical power law distribution. Nothing really unusual or unexpected about that.

Excuse me, but is this a settled issue? One opinion is OK, a different one deserves being ostracized, losing one's job? When did this happen? I don't think I got the memo.

You mean all of the time I spent writing brilliant comments just to get over 1000 karma was unnecessary? Well bah!

This would be far more useful if shipping costs were included. A $6 flash drive with another $6 in shipping isn't really a $6 flash drive now is it?

Facebook does not really care who you share your posts with. It does care that you stay on Facebook so that it can charge Coke and Nike and other big brands huge dollars to put their posts into your timeline. So, making you feel a little be

"Who are the users who want to be spammed forever following 'Like'-ing a business or brand?" But isn't that exactly how Twitter works? And isn't that what Facebook users expect? To see all the posts of their fr

There is no way to hedge $100M+ on sports bets. Nobody will take that kind of action, even if he spread it around to every single book. I personally think if I was offered $10M as a settlement, I'd take it.

In the case of Air France 447, it did take 2 years to recover the black box. I'm guessing this one will be quicker because of the potential terrorism angle.

So if this law were on effect, who decides what is a lie? If you read the article, the example used is not a lie. It is political speech. You cannot criminalize criminal speech in the US.

It seems your customers are telling you EXACTLY what they want - an option to remove 'Remember Me'. You don't seem to want a conversation about it so much as a chance to sell people on it.

Can't decide if I want to respond to this by pointing out that it is argumentum ad populum or as an ad hominem (poisoning the well) argument. Hmmm, after much consideration, gonna go with ad hominem.

I tend to agree with the OP, the problem is not the braces per se. IMO, better would be a coding convention to skip curly braces but if and only if the entire instruction is on one line. Then the bug would have stood out more prominently.

The fact that guns are ubiquitous in the US means that an oppressive regime cannot use their monopoly on guns against the people. I'll take that side of the bargain any day.
