This island provided the basics for life and yet could not sustain it. It's sobering when we consider sending people to a planet that is entirely hostile to our existence.

That was the best thing I've read all day. When I was younger and had time to spend on anything I wanted to, I did. I wanted to make a game. So I started making an OpenGL game, but I realized that any game worth a damn would support Di

I came here through a mention on the http://www.JoelOnSoftware.com Business Of Software forum. I unfortunately missed the party there and it was already dying down when I started reading the forum on a regular basis.

I like JetBrains and their products. I am glad they exist. My take: The site is not really appropriate given that their supposed target demographic is developers who are quick to cut through marketing BS and skip to the details. All the fla

I had a negative math experience as well. I skated by most of the time, never really learning the concepts. I really learned calculus 1 after taking it during summer classes for the third time in college. Learning it really well did somethi

After searching for developers this year, I can say that pair programming during an interview is hard on the interviewee and could also be frustrating for the interviewer. That said, our best hire was the one person who rose to the occasion

I get the same effect from drinking Starbuck's "Awake" or black tea, whatever they call it now. An empty stomach usually makes it worse.
