That’s a long 10 mins to wait for an email to see if you’ve still got a job or not.

Really, they were looking for "looking for decentralized enabling technologies"? Why? I'm suspicious. What problem were they trying to solve?

I'm really looking forward to seeing this improve. [I'm also hoping that things like this and the Common Voice project might eventually lead to an open / privacy respecting Mozilla voice asistant service. Maybe that's ju

They ship reskinned Ubuntu too. It's called Slimbook OS for IP reasons. You can also install vanilla Ubuntu yourself and add the Slimbook PPA for hardware specific stuff. I have the Slimbook Pro X 15 and have found their service to be

Am I wrong in thinking that there's no way to force users to participate in Web3? Like, there's no proposal to somehow move existing infrastructure over to Web3?

Poor Larry. Was that in a 'right to work's state? It's Management's job to manage. It doesn't say much about them that they couldn't find a way to motivate Larry, or to make use of his skills without firing him

Or as the other joke goes; America is a one party system - the War Party. It's just that as per typical American extravagance they've got two of them.

I hope not. Mozilla are having a hard time of it lately but I would really worry that they've lost their way if they touch the steaming pile of crypto scamware shit that is web3.

I guess the alternative is some other social media network (possibly European?), which will be more likely to be regulated from an earlier stage in it's lifecycle and therefore to be better behaved in terms of user privacy.

This is an interesting take. The author is probably correct that only Pine could organise priority coherent sharable work on kernel drivers, telephony stack etc which would then benefit all distributions. I guess distributions could club to

That's an intersting take. My only argument is with your assertion that "app developers love this". The 'stop theming my app' crowd is pretty small. The number of apps on Flatpak is pretty small compared to say Snap

A tabloid isnt by necessity left or right wing. It's a physical format, and also a style of news writing and delivery. In the UK the Mirror is more or less left meaning while the Sun is very right wing.

I use Ubuntu on the desktop, have a few snaps installed and a couple if flatpaks. Both seem fine in my limited usage. Snaps are also available for servers and IOT devices. AFAIK the popular EFF Certbot is only distributed via snap for examp

I am very sympathetic to this change. It probably doesn't go far enough to be honest. This type of change is important because without it moderation is more difficult. What can feel like a masochistic job becomes near impossible where
