Bandcamp is the only place I buy music online. They just seem so honest: Fair pay for musicians; free streaming prior to purchase; drm-free multiple formats, including FLAC. They don't even try to make it hard to rip mp3s from the stre

Because asking a few quick questions doesn't waste 8 hours of your candidates time.

> Taking up hours of a candidate's time is excessive, but it seems reasonable to ask for some demonstration of your ability, when so many candidates simply cannot code. So why not simply ask technical questions during an interview?

I really hate having to solve these kind of programming challenges. I've already sent you my CV, with references from former/current employers and co-workers. Call them up if you are worried that I'm lying on my résumé, don&#

For morality reasons I would never be comfortable working there. The workplace could be heaven on earth and pay really well but there are simply things that are more important.

I'm no fan of Nickleback's but I don't think they deserve to be compared to Palantir. If I was a Kimono dev I would certainly be leaving now.

Although I think people should be rewarded for their work I don't really don't like where this is headed. As others have noted the statement from Valve reads as if paid mods are definitely coming in a not so distant future. Modder

Have you considered the inverse? That perhaps people find it very worthwhile to talk to you? Any way, thanks for explaining. You live your life the way that works best for you:)

If you only interact with people who mirror yourself you will live your life in a bubble of sorts. I say embrace the differences. Argue your world view and listen to theirs. In the end you will be wiser than you were before.

Sure, but even though it was easy it still required "cracking". In the beginning the secret was not know but in the end the 'adversary' was able to determine the secret. In my mind "cracking" a password or a co

How does that work? Do you have to continue to pay the license the entire time that you app is commercially available or is it only during development?

Exactly! I rarely do HTML stuff, but when I do I just want a quick reminder for how to do things. For that type of thing W3Schools beats everyone else.

I am far from being an expert but I think the most common thing to do is to just take on the surname of the parent as a sort of family name. So if Björk's father was John Smith then she would be Björk Smith. Family names are not unhear
