If you want a language and VM that makes it easy to run jobs on different compute then boy do I have great news for you ;) Running heterogenous loads on an elixir cluster is almost trivial. Certainly trivial compared to other languages. No

Elixir dev here, just to put the context in place first hehe. Couldn’t that thing be typed as the web format? A nested set of string props with either string or number types in the leaves. Then use those types to traverse and pull into «rea

Its even worse. Revenue payout for creators is based on impressions of ads towards the paying users. Meaning there is incentive to show even more ads to the ones who pay. Elon is genuising twitter very hard :D

I don’t disagree on the summary of your post. Especially for refactoring, types can be great. But it is funny you chose the creator of Scala as the example. The gold plated banana cables of typing. The entire language and its endless lang m

Teams is a horrible software, but every single aws person I have talked to would love to use it instead of Chime. Not to mention that most of their most important (enterprise) customers are using it. It’s nice to be able to casually chat wi

Just gonna chip in here and say that anything costing a 100 bucks is not valid as an argument in a conversation about cloud. The prime selling point for cloud for large enterprises was (and still is): - a signatory that shares blame on seve

Put 29 988 people spread out on the globe (slightly larger since we are further out in the radius, but lets ignore that). Do you still wonder? Probably you could put a few million up there before collision is a worry. Space debris and block

I bought a $1200 mirrorless which was supposedly the best in class a couple of years ago. All my photos look like they were shot on a potato compared to my iphone. Not to mention that I don't walk around with that mirrorless camera in

Which is a great if you consider that 99.98% of iphone owners wont know how to do it better themselves. It will be fascinating for anthropologists a few hundred years from now to see the increase in quality in «every day photography» that c

Will you be providing this for bring-your-own-compute in general? There is a gaping hole in the market for this. All the big vendors that provide postgres as a service require you to be on very specific types of hosting like aws fargate, go

Most western diets gets more than enough d-vitamin through food additives. Just a couple of slices of cheese per day and some milk is all the d-vit you need here apparently. The old folk saying is to take d-vitamin supplements in all months

I think that prepper scenario is way more likely in a «I got mine, screw you» society like the US. All the countries you list have their issues, but their base level of societal egalitarism is orders of magnitude higher. I would not be surp

For infants this is not food safe. The powder should be mixed with water that is at least 70C to kill bacteria that might be present in the powder. For older babies (6+) then maybe not so important. In the weaning period when I took over wi

Have you tried gpt4? Because I have and this sounds like wild cherrypicking of lucky results. «How to to play chess» -> devolve into illegal moves quickly? So does that mean that its model of physics will let it levitate as well then?
