It seems like this is essentially the same technology, but they use the "needs to follow a bike" property to deal with the fact that your proposed AI trailer likely wouldn't be street legal, and also as an easy way to deter v

Are these trailers big/bulky/scary enough to convince someone driving a car or truck to finally pass a bike safely (i.e. by changing lanes completely rather than whizzing by?). If so, it might be a useful addition for cyclists who

I think most people just don't want to see their effort lost to time. Patching a binary is impressive, sure, but it's the polar opposite of sustainable. You don't have a good way to document your fix, it's dependent on o

It sounds like you have an overly idealistic view of how this process works. Why do you imagine non-disclosure agreements are standard after an out-of-court settlement? It's because "pay me or I'll badmouth you" is essen

You can inform the company (through your lawyer) that their options are a settlement with you in exchange for keeping quiet, or public airing of dirty laundry. The company can then decide if the settlement amount is worth the PR hit. You

For the moment, let's ignore the discussion about opt-out vs. opt-in... If the fee is truly discretionary, then you should be able to go to the front desk and ask them to remove the charge, and they should do so without a fuss. Has any

There's also ssize_t and ptrdiff_t for offsets that might be negative. Use is pretty nuanced, read the docs before using, etc.

You're making a false equivalence. It's okay to call out and have a low opinion of someone who you believe is behaving poorly or acting in bad faith. The parent is making a character judgement, but they explained their reasoning

I mean, if that's the density you like, then sure. I think 1080p at 24" looks pretty bad. I have UI scaling disabled on my 27" 4k display and it looks fine to me.

I didn't mean to imply that a 40" diagonal was necessarily excessive (if you have the space, go for it!), I was just disagreeing with the claim that you need a screen that big for 4k. I have a smaller 4k screen, and I think the

40" diagonal seems a bit extreme. I think my 27" 4k display is perfect. My dad has slightly worse eyes and prefers his 32" 4k display, which I find noticably grainier but perfectly serviceable.

I switched from Lenovo's 15" T-series to their 14" models because of the goddamn numpad. I guess now I could look at the X1 extreme, because that has a 15"/16" display and no numpad.

I have good eyes and strongly prefer wqhd (2560x1440) over 1080p on my 14" Thinkpad, because I can just barely lay out two windows side by side without stupid websites like Gmail and JIRA getting too narrow, using my scale factor of ch
