Why is local storage not compelling anymore for you? It's faster, cheaper and often more reliable than someone else's computer.

enkid's people have had a remote outpost near the center for some time now. They have not reported finding any life so far there but can we really trust them after the Saturn 3 disaster?

This is exactly the mindless vitriol I had in mind. Flow A: hit a button, a menu with text input and pictures shows up Flow B: hit a button, a full screen with text input and pictures shows up A is perfect, and B is "practically unusab

I am still baffled by the whole Windows 8 drama. All they did was they replaced a menu with another one. Everything else was the same or better. Supposed power users freaking out about something completely inconsequential. What the hell is

The Deck looks fantastic. Would've totally gotten one if I had any use for it but I have two modern desktops for desk and TV gaming so yeah. It doesn't look like they'll abandon it like they did with the Index. In fact, this

For me, as a gamer, Linux was not viable until about a decade ago when MS, in their infinite wisdom, pushed Valve to make it viable for gaming. This has always been my major problem with it. Sure, I could - and did - play Quake 3 on Linux 2

Maybe this isn't strictly about GPUs. Or maybe it's just FUD designed to signal that no, video cards aren't getting cheaper and they'd rather cut supply than lower their margins. Who knows with this industry.

I grew up in eastern Europe. Yes, meat was more expensive 30 years ago. These days, thanks to endless subsidies, meat is way cheaper than quality vegetables and most nuts. And yet, people choose not to eat it. Earth shattering, I know. Damn

Well, of course. We don't even need science to determine that humans are omnivores. Just look around - not everyone eats meat.

But couch gaming is so much better with a lighter device in hands and a TV hooked to a PC. I, too, want a Deck but can't justify the waste because my cute little htpc is much, much faster. Not that it needs to be, 90% of the time. Noth

Depends on what you're doing. There is great value in SSR but how does one even make anything dynamic/interactive without JS? You can't, so you start adding pure non-spa tainted js. Then you add features until your amazing pu

There are a number of machines using 5800u @ 15W. That's hardly 10x more power. They are only slightly bigger but offer a quite a bit more performance, let alone features. That said, what am I talking about costs about 500. There'
