You haven't heard of fat Romans? The environment, pesticides, plastics, skinny robot aliens from the future. We just don't know! Anything but indulgence.

Sure would've made things easier for me back in 2019 when I was trying to have an Ubuntu gaming machine with a brand new RX 5700.

I am a js disabler who writes js for a living. "Apps" are hard without js. Not worth it and I do not expect anything complex or interactive to work. Stuff like HN and news/forums function just fine without, though. And that i

One of the first things that made a bad impression on me was back in the day when classes were still used in the js world. I was not pleased when it told me I have have to do this.blahBlah = value in the constructor because it didn't q

My niece told my wife dinosaurs are for boys. She likes her pink disney junk very much. It's not the kid's fault.

Really? That is a carefully directed video with a cool audio track. Have you tried running the actual tech demo?

Yes, ray traced GI in Metro was pretty unimpressive.

I am just that annoying guy trying to remind everyone Q2 RTX is still the best we've got in terms of actual games. Take that at face value. It barely runs on ~6 year old gpu. I was about to pull a few numbers out of my ass as to how it

Faster as in having something newer than Quake 2 run with 120 on modern hardware? By the time we have ray/path traced global illumination in a $current_year game, all of my hair would be white

I am not sure about the "a lot of carbon up front" part. Compared to the industrial, man made carbon capture plants madness, the cost of transporting young trees, people and water would be nothing. The main "problem" wit

I actually deleted the line I had written about Narbacular Drop. You're technically correct, which is the best kind of correct, of course, but Prey was stuck in a development hell for what, 10 years? It had portals in the 90s!

You forgot about the portals. It had portals before Portal. It also features some pretty cool weapons and other mechanics. Pretty cool game. Too bad Human Head never got to finish the second one

Sounds great. It really does. Question is who would be brave enough to provide such a cool thing. I don't think even 30+ year old MAME roms are not considered abandonware, as obtainable as they've been for the last 20+ years.

How do you geolocate a photo shoot and search for a camera that matches? I really don't know what you meant. Assuming you're not talking about phone metadata, of course.

Huh? The EU tech sector would absolutely love the US giants pulling out (phrasing) of Europe. Who wants to fight all these behemoths that pay almost no taxes here because they "invest" so much

You have a point, though one must not forget who runs the world. Spoiler alert: it's not the EU. The bigger theater is forcing the big US bois to invest here (building data centers) by playing the privacy card.

I found the 8 family much better than 10. The only major UI difference to 7 was what, a stupid start menu. But it had old the good upgrades that made their way to 10. Oh well, what do I know
