It is funny but let’s hope someone doesn’t take it seriously or use it in that capacity else they’re gonna have to explain it in court

Dunno if HN is the place to call for someone’s death. Besides, Bill isn’t the one making the decisions in the article so what does he have to do with it anyway? He started MS?

Is you were Epic, would you trust Apple to honor this at all? Develop games, pour years of work into building your iOS platform out, and they might just nuke it all on a whim

My fear is that banning the Flipper will lead to making it easier to ban similar devices and eventually make using things like the ESP32 more difficult.

Clicks or no, it's a title that can cause additional inflammation where government(s) are already looking to ban devices like the Flipper Zero instead of addressing the issue. Governments don't care if it's the Flipper or not

Pathetically abysmal. Somehow someone convinced themselves that this was the way forward. I feel that it’s self-defeating though; folks worth the time are gonna hit this interview and end the call unless they’re desperate. In the end the re

Thanks, well said. A lot of security things are quite abstract and difficult to measure the value of. Often the value is only apparent when stuff goes wrong - “wow we’re lucky we made folks use 2FA because it saved our business” - but if yo

I agree that GitHub is to be avoided. At present it’s a bit difficult and maybe a bit unrealistic to avoid it entirely unfortunately. But I really want the space to diversify more.

If you’re equating signing a commit to traditional code approval you fundamentally misunderstand the point of signing a commit or what a signature is in cryptography. You “approve” the code by authoring the commit but the signature is a ver

k8s is really about you and if it makes sense for your use case. It’s not universally bad or universally good, and I don’t feel that there is a minimum team size required for it to make sense. Managing k8s, for me at least, is a lot easier

I don’t fully understand the argument. The article is rambling and touches so many topics in different ways such that I can’t really see a clear analogy or connection. What I gathered was that the author believes signing commits to be bad b

The response from Netlify on this issue left much to be desired. “Yeah we give a lot of discounts but you need to ask for them!” Okay, but you’re making people ask for them because some won’t and you get to make massive profit from them. So

Yeah it's pretty silly. I guess Apple looked at their market and figured something out that met the majority of use cases, but not having that freedom is very frustrating.

If I wrote programs for Mac, this is one of the things that would really piss me off. Then, I'd write to ~/Library because I'm not gonna spend the time to figure out how to make it work with codesigning, if at all possible.

I'm not on that level, but diving into React when you're not used to it is quite an experience. I've been asked to do it a few times as a most-backend/infra person. Good luck when the codebase is a mess though, cuz it se
