What stood out to me was this line for the company (based on the author’s tool?) that sold for ~500M USD. “I searched my mailbox for emails related to that company and found a single complaint about a feature. No pull requests, no donations, no nothing.” I find it quite pathetic that a company whose entire life depended on the work of the author but the only thing they ever contributed was a complaint. Surely something that meant this much to them was worth either compensation or contribution of more productive kinds.
