You are right with the following blog posts blindly is a bad idea. And I feel guilty that I didn't invest time to learn why I commented those lines in IP conf (it's bad enough that I don't remember which files I changed). So

XNA was what I used to build my first game ever. It was a magical experience to realise how quickly I could get things running. Nowadays when I go over game frameworks' documentation, I find myself thinking back to how simple xna was.

Love this. I was able to get more useful information about remote working than I was able to when reading the original who is hiring April post. This is probably a good time to suggest changing the format of the who is hiring posts. Would b

Wait. Python is growing? Somehow something feels off. I'm guessing that's not in the web dev field but rather in the data analysis field. Been keeping an eye out for remote web dev work with a company using python and best practic

Given that this bug could compromise part of the foundation of YouTube (deleting videos, messing up ad revenue), this should be worth a lot more than just $5k. A quick script running on several servers could take down a large part of youtub

This! I joined a new company recently to build out the systems. Instead of trying to predict the future and build for it, I just went ahead and built a bare minimum architecture and used TDD for it while doing so. The start was a little slo

Been playing around with it for a while. Surprised that I was the first person to add Vagrant to my toolset. EDIT - Forgot to say, great job. With some polish it'll definitely make a fun tool discovery service. Thanks for this

Agree with the author's sentiment. Sometimes I get people trying to start up a little holy war over editors and IDEs and my reply to them has always been, if you are sure you can't go faster in the editor/IDE you've chos

That's a really tough question. If I had to pick one, I'd take C. Simply for the reason of employment. I can't think of any other reason to pick one over the other. My choice of python as my go to language has bitten me in th
