I do not think that this will work. Unless people actively force them not to, they will shut down this door and they will build a new one for the elites to continue their business as usual.

The same is true for any human achievement: humans have used fire to burn other people as well as stay warm and metallurgy, knifes as tools or for war etc. autonomous drones can clearly be very useful.

The upgraded TGV almost halved the time in the Paris-Bordeaux line from 4-4.5 to 2:15. This was a huge difference and combined with the convenience of the train station being close to the center as opposed to the airport, meant that people

As a Greek myself I can confirm that most of us know almost nothing about ancient Greek and a lot of us think that they do because they have the mistaken impression that the two languages slightly differ. To be fair though, i guess this hap

It would be very nice if this happened. In my view, one other feasible good step would be to require companies to publish the source code of their phones, ie provide the option for people to download, compile and install the full sw stack.

No we are NOT responsible for other peoples' life/choices. Period. This is no longer the 90s, every year there are articles "20?? is the year of the linux"! Linux has actually been around for longer than w95/NT an

I guess this may not be the right place to ask this, but I have not seen any "explanation" on why the company who bought freenode is killing it and I am really curious why would one buy sth and then kill it.

What you need to search for is "list initialization" (eg https://en.cppreference.com/w/cpp/language/list_initializati... ) . I understand that it is not the obvious thing to do. If you search for c++

I am really amazed by the comments saying "they did not make profits so it is reasonable they do not pay any taxes". You are skipping the whole point which is that a company that made 44bn sales income didn't really make 0 or
