You have to be careful with that line of reasoning; I could rephrase it as "Why bother worrying about minorities?" People with disabilities cannot be treated like legacy browsers. They have no other option, and there are times whe

A very handy tool for spot checking, but also training. My benefit from this visualization will be demonstrating to non-technical how to people to think about accessibility (specifically screen readers). Half the challenge with WCAG is gett

I found the FitBod app during Covid and had a similar journey. I'd previously been a runner and also did some bouldering, and found that strength training was vastly more beneficial to my overall health. Strength, combined with some ca

Amusingly it cost about as much as an Apple Vision Pro. Nice to see some things don’t change.

Living in Brooklyn, I always prefer to explore east/west instead of north/south. This is because the streets have trees, while the avenues are exposed. In the hot summer months you’ll have a delightful walk down Bergen, then absol

It's a process you follow to stop yourself from answering the question for them. Ask them to define success, what the obstacles are to it, what their options are to overcome it, and immediate next steps to take. Basically a modern vers

Not an article, but I do frequently recommend the following: Multipliers - an excellent book on how to avoid becoming a stereotypical bad boss. Chapters are easy to read independently and have great summaries at the end. Crucial Conversatio

This is exactly the problem with Hudson Yards in NYC. Even now, the most likely image you'll see when searching for Hudson yards is of the rather terrible "Vessel" sculpture they plopped down in the middle. This is because al

If you've lived in NYC for the last decade this is completely obvious. First came CitiBike, then came Vision Zero, and now years later we have growing infrastructure to support new methods of transportation. Is it perfect? Oh god no. B

You walked through the most expensive neighborhood in all of Brooklyn, home to multi-million dollar brownstones and full floor condos. Try poking at some denser neighborhoods, the problems will become more evident.

Trash cans aren't viable because of shortcomings in our infrastructure; we don't have alleyways. Large apartment buildings use dumpsters or basement trash rooms, but you can't exactly cart those out on to the sidewalk. Street

This is a really long article to say "Content dispersion is bad". Yeah, obviously. More so if you use a generic image like Waze. It's not a usability problem, it's a quality problem. Apple does just fine with full width
