You're imputing a lot of malice into what I've written that I didn't intend - I'm a big fan of EVs and would love to get one in the near future. I'm just outlining the sort of issues and complexities that come up if

I'm amused that you think "cloud providers have bad APIs" is a bold claim instead of the default state of things. Things as basic as IAM Groups in AWS aren't taggable: https://registry.terraform.io/provid

Sure, but that caveat is pretty dang important. I'm in a part of the US where it's not hard to be on a highway where there's 10 miles between exits, and some of those exits won't even have a petrol station. I'm plan

The issue is mostly the timeline. "recharging" your petrol car is a few orders of magnitude faster than an EV. If I'm doing a long drive of 100 miles, I now need to make sure I recharge before coming back to make sure I'

This is actually a thing for US Congress races in a number of states, including Georgia and California, I believe. The issue that comes up is that it consistently rewards a stronger party - for instance, if the population is, let's say

To be fair to them, _desktop_ Linux is a fair bit easier than laptop Linux. Laptops have many of the components that have been the most neglected/hardest to work with - wifi cards, bluetooth, trackpads, fingerprint readers... All all t

Some of it is also just the difficulty of differentiating between an intentionally sneaky bit of whatever-ism and an accident. A finance institution using a star of david is borderline enough that any savvy marketing person wouldn't ha

I'm not sure this is true though. As said elsewhere in these comments, the full-keyboard version of this machine is fairly new (last 5-10 years to my memory). It used to just be an up/down arrow for adjusting how much time you wan

Yea, this is, in some ways, the biggest UX issue, though something the designer likely had no control over. These machines are just unbearably slow, and I have no idea why. It seems crazy that something like typing in your plate number woul

That's part of the issue though, isn't it? Someone paints over the keyboard and you have no idea where anything is because it's not a normal layout for a keyboard. If it was QWERTY and then a numpad, some people would be able

I had an issue with this last fall - had my AC go out in the fall when it had been over 80F for the last few months. Outside, it would be 70 during the day and 50 overnight, but there was so much heat in my walls/floors that I literall

It's just generally easier to do more things well/professionally when you're well off and have the time to work on it or hire someone to do it. It's similar to the issues with standardized testing in schools. If your par

Are you sure Musk is against the former? I don't have strong knowledge either way, but it's pretty hard to split that line. The recent history of at least the US far-right can be described as recruiting/evangelizing primarily
