How does this project prevent that I as an attacker insert random garbage or rewrite the downloaded pages to be wrong in specific ways? For HTTP this seems impossible. For HTTPS, who does the TLS termination? It could be safe if the warrior

Yes, the same concern exists for Synthesia. It teaches a significant amount of muscle memory. But that is not such a bad thing: * Muscle memory is part of the game, for any instrument (at least for the ones I know). * Some of the muscle mem

If you want kids to be excited about playing the piano, get a keyboard with light keys like the Yamaha EZ-300. Combined with a learning software that can control the light (Synthesia, or the one from Yamaha itself, maybe also the one in the

This did not work for me in the USA and Canada, where the pre-authorisation attempt failed with a debit card but worked with a credit card (from the same bank) in 3 different places when renting cars.

There are many POSIX APIs that S3 does not cover. For example directories, and thus efficient renames and atomic moves of sub hierarchies.

I use CephFS. Blob storage is easier than POSIX file systems: You have server-client state. The concept of opened files, directories, and their states. Locks. The ability for multiple writers to write to the same file while still providing

Are you sure the perf may not be misleading? E.g. memory accesses might show up as slower die to CPU caches being flushed when switching between user and kernel space. I would be extremely interested in a quick (standalone?) benchmark of e.

CephFS does that. You can use getfattr to ask it for the recursive number of entries or bytes in a given directory. Querying it is constant time, updates update it with a few seconds delay. Extremely useful when you have billions of files o

> $3600.00/TB/month It doesn't have to be that way. At Hetzner I pay $200/TB/month for RAM. That's 18x cheaper. Sometimes you can reach the goal faster with less complexity by removing the part with the 20x

In almost all cases, the reason is OpenSSH's silly limitation of buffer sizes [1]. It limits the amount of data that's "in the cable" (which needs to be more if the cable is long). > The default SSH window size was 64

How about the fact that S3 is not suitable for web serving due to high latencies (in standard storage classes)? Many people think you can just host the resources for your websites, such as images or fonts, straight on S3. But that can make
