When I try to think of how it might scale, I usually end up with small pieces. * Eg, imagine a business model similar to YC bu relying on revenues of companies they helped create rather then exits. More integrated then I think YC is. A comp

I am not sure. How can I be? There aren't many examples of this existing and something like this would have to be answered empirically. If it is roughly as good as more common structures, then you might have an uphill battle because those o

I'm not sure I really get this sort of comment. Is a mac really such a hurdle relative time, effort or monetary cost?

I strongly suspect that I am (was) a lot of both. I also strongly suspect that the distinction is hard to make. I smoked to wake up, to go to sleep, to be alert, to relax, to suppress hunger, to get an appetite to think, to take a break or

Well, that's a function of the complexity and the customisation of your site. You use 70+ modules? Probably some custom work as well. There's just no easy way to get that. Drupal or no Drupal. You can DIY, which comes with its own troubles.

The old media probably has a part to play in the future, just not as big or as rich as before.

Put another way, he's leaving a gap that can be filled with very little overhead. What happens if big news corps refuse to be online? Someone else will be online. The latter will be read. I'm not going back to print. Rupert be damned.

Makes you wonder what is easy to change. Apart from search, it's all difficult to swap over. In many ways, more difficult then office software or even an OS. We're getting there.

Not just history. Actual international courts are extremely inconsistent. They are basically a way of judging losers with a little bit more legitimacy then just hanging the enemy king. War crime charges as they are legally defined could pro

The courts of public opinion, history or even the actual international courts are poor ones. The Nazis are unique in the treatment they got. Many of the judgements do not contain the consistency to be called justice. The Nazis lost to deepl

I hope so. It would also be nice if the complex enabled lower end netbooks a little more. Anyway, it's still all early days. Chrome OS may not be that good. Google isn't proven in this area yet. Chrome browser is usually still a secondary b

All sorts of things about this are off: Market segmentation is the time-honoured technique of asking people how much money they have when they want to buy something rather than telling them what it costs, meaning what it costs is a functio

Actually, I would argue that manufacturers have recently given linux more of a shot then consumer demand implied. Netbooks started on linux. By all accounts, it was nice. Users rejected it. Retailers took it out of the store. Many retailers

Intelligent design, as far as I understand, argues that there is (must be) a conscious and deliberate designer. It doesn't specify who. Most evolutionists think that intelligent design is a creationist conspiracy to teach creationism under

I object to your definition of philosophy. Evolution is first and foremost an philosophical concept. It is just biology to the extent that the evolution of life happens to beautifully demonstrate it.

This is just silly belittling. It doesn't really mean anything. What do you mean by "life?" It doesn't tell you what you should do with it? The reason evolution ever became such a important part of atheism is because it weakens the historic

Yes. It is very similar, but a little worse because evolution does play an role in understanding interesting aspects of life like art, morality and love.

I use dropbox and am happy with it. I save files to it every day. I share files using it about once a fortnight and I grab files via the web app about once in 2-3 months. I'm at 23.1% of 2.5 GB. I don't think I will upgrade soon unless I st
