I run a bakery, so I found members of the media I wanted to get along with, got to know them, and gave them free samples of my products. Many of them are now customers and friends. I imagine a similar process would work for online-only busi

I already do this to an extent! It is indeed part of the added value for the business, but when I first started coding it up a lot of it was because I missed coding and was looking for an excuse to write more.

I live in a developing country, share an apartment, and am relatively frugal. I do however spend money on things that save me significant amounts of time.

I'm not expecting $400 for life, I'm more interested in trading time for money. How much time? Theoretically that should depend on how good I am. Some of the opportunities people (such as patio11) have posted are what I'm interested in. I w

I would rather be paid by the task and not by the amount of time worked. This seems to be beneficial for both parties: a) Payer sets value for the service he wants and has that service delivered by a specified time (or I don't get paid) b)

Python, ruby, php, scheme, c, c++, java. Any ideas how quickly I could make the money off of something like elance (or how quickly you could, since we don't know our relative coding speeds)? Likewise for Mechanical Turk?
