These are almost lateral approaches and very different from each other though, with MRI being more like a sonar scan and colonoscopies more like sending a submarine equipped with a camera into the depths. Both can be very useful and helpful

Mine is still on stock but maybe now is the time to learn how to flash and all. Would you recommend doing it also in terms of camera and stability or is it rather experimental for testing new Android features / proof of concept etc.?

The US is, at the least to an equal extent, also where it is because of its excellent possibilities to have access to a free flow of information and stable not profit motivated institutions that allow that access. This includes libraries.
