I can assume what challenges Google is facing based on how successful other companies in the space are in providing the same service, namely Microsoft and Apple. Google: 32 countries Apple: 90 countries (probably more now, info from 2012) M

I know Google's policy on this, but I completely understand where the developer is coming from. Google has been taking a collective shit on every developer out of its list of seller countries[0], which is ridiculously short and hasn&#x

I have been at times vocal in opposition to the type of companies that YC has funded in the past few batches, as the possibility of them improving life quality for people that actually need the improvement seemed quite small, largely based

I wonder how the nature versus nurture aspect comes into play in this. Are male and female brains inherently wired differently, or do they wire differently as we grow up due to the different experiences and upbringing men and women are subj

The upvotes are likely from people wondering "is there something to see here?", who want to get HN's two cents on the topic, which turns out to be very boring, as you explained. Edit: Any reason for the downvote? I genuinely

The displayed workflow is horrendous. And that's just one aspect of the sub-par experience of doing "real work" on pure touch screen devices. The poll sums it all up nicely. What users want is real multitasking, a keyboard, a

Not to discredit your personal experience, but my experience is much closer to Ensorceled's post. All the obstacles I've encountered are on the regulation and/or cronyism of the institutions side. The doctors themselves are s

I don't think the people who work on these "useless" apps are to blame, rather it's the system in which they are brought up in and in case of start-ups, are taught entrepreneurship in. Paul Graham himself says he advises
