This is fantastic. Addresses the completely broken aspects of doing research in academia, gives researchers access to top developers through the YC network, gives you a much better environment stress and pay-wise than if you're a resea

There's no need to make up dark motives on Marco's side, his blogpost on blocking The Deck ( http://www.marco.org/2015/09/17/why-peace-blocks-deck-ads ) pretty clearly showed where the cracks were. A

Don't usually do this, but I'll explain the downvotes (I've never heard of this project). Your original comment felt needlessly aggressive and had nothing to do with discussing the project's merits. The follow-on comment

I'll get the default (and largely true) feedback out of the way: - Ideas are the easy part, and are not worth much - Trademarks/copyright/patents are a waste of your time Now for the positive part: - if you want funding, and

This is the same question that I had while using Pushbullet. If notifications appear on the laptop, then 2FA isn't really helping. Pushbullet allows you to "mute" SMS notifications, but that's one of the key features. Ho

Congrats on launching this! I've been looking into using SMS as a delivery mechanism for a while now, for different reasons. Access to, for example, medical information through SMS could be immensely helpful in the developing world. Tw

I was thinking of taxi legislation as the example (EU city example, can't speak for the US). Taxis in my city need to be registered and the drivers need to have a taxi license, the cars need to have prices clearly listed on their windo

I only meant that how we look at them changes with their size, and if they want to remain the "good guys" their tactics should change too. If Lyft had 5 times the funding, Uber recruiting their drivers would look like a bold move.

Uber has a culture of breaking the rules. As beneficial as that was and is in their growth, it's not surprising it mutates in less pleasant ways as they grow. The same actions that seemed benevolent before, will seem more and more male

It isn't, but the abundance of funding cash everywhere hasn't really translated into more insane (technically) ideas being funded lately, YC or elsewhere. At least that's been my impression, and it feels like YC is changing

A misunderstanding, I didn't mean Samsung originally, but Samsung in the past 2 years (S4 and S5 to be exact). Their dominance in the past 2 years, in my opinion, has a lot more to do with marketing than with making great products. I

My expectation and the expectation of my social circle was that Amazon is going to come out with some crazy pricing, subsidizing the phone with future purchases, and offering a 99$ phone, no contract. All of the tech is neat, but the reacti
