It seems that Guix has some technical benefits as compared to nix, but I wasted a week just trying to get Guix System installed on an old x86 laptop and never got past the login screen without a hang or crash. Nix on the other hand booted f

Well if you have any favorites, I'd love to see them. I'm very interested in the research in this topic, and you're making bold claims that I haven't seen well supported in literature, but I've been less on top of t

Almost certainly not. Vitamin supplementation would almost certainly be unnecessary if those 400 calories were reasonable, and even then a multivitamin is calorie free.

To my knowledge this mirrors the largest meta-analysis I'm aware of (JAMA? Probably way back in 2008 or so though, man I'm getting old) which showed that virtually all diets have a return to baseline weight by 2 years. Will see if

I hear the nay-sayers regarding the time cost and complexity of embedded programming, but as a hobbyist I think this is a great recommendation to at least consider. The projects that I've been able to accomplish on a microcontroller ha

Wow, that's been there a while: https://github.com/helix-editor/helix/commit/35c974c9c49f912... Wonder how I missed that. I'm getting a re-education in helix today -- thank you! I'll go through

I use visual mode a fair amount for block-wise changes (something that helix does very well). Unfortunately I reliably labor to get might visual selection correct in helix and then mistype a key and it's gone. Glad to hear it's co

I'm intentionally trying to move from nvim to helix, but I still sorely miss macros, `gv`, `g;`, piping rg to the quickfix list, and a few others. Slowly getting used to it though, the ultra-fast startup time and no-hassle LSP integrat

I'd say it's fairly accurate. It's difficult to confidently establish "stable" in a patient with possibly feigned or exaggerated symptoms based on history and exam alone. It is generally agreed that pain management

Came to say the same. Big difference in programming language support -- in addition to arduino (or C I presume?) the esp32c3 can be programmed in no_std rust, either 8266 or 32 can be programmed with micropython. Or apparently you can just

I often end up scripting something with the dependency tree as opposed to recursively trying to uninstall dependencies that I don't recognize until I get to something top-level that I recognize.

I follow a similar approach -- top-level dependencies in pyproject.toml and then a pip freeze to get a reproducible set for applications. I know there are edge cases but this has worked really well for me for a decade without much churn in
